The attraction of the ‘hybrid’ approach is that we can identify and agree with the client a small number of specific target companies or individuals (i.e. direct competition), as well as attracting a wider pool of candidates from advertising.

Carlson Marketing Group (CMG) is a full service relationship-marketing agency with a global client base of major organisations.

In 2005, a number of businesses that comprised Carlson Marketing Group EMEA were merged into one cohesive unit, resulting in a new organisational structure.

This resulted in the need to hire a number of key people into the business, including a new head of their Customer Insight offering. This was a difficult role to fill – the business needed a candidate with a rare combination of skills: a deep customer insight/analytical sciences background; a strong consultancy background; experience in the key verticals that Carlson focus on; plus a strong and proven business development capability with an entrepreneurial flair.

Prism undertook a deep search of the market: in consultancies that focus on customer insight; and the customer insight departments of major corporates; before finding the person that fulfilled all of the criteria.
